基于小波零树的图像压缩算法的硬件实现

摘要 从下一世纪起,图像传送将会逐渐采用符合MPEG-4 标准[8]的压缩技术。基于小波变换的图像压缩/解压缩算法[1~3]是MPEG-4 标准中视频静态背景图像压缩所推荐的算法。本文简介基于小波变换的图像压缩/解压缩算法的原理、硬件实现的方法和步骤以及硬件实现的性能指标,以推动先进的EDA工具的使用,并探索现代复杂高速算法的硬线逻辑电路系统的设计技术和方法。 From the year of 2000,the image compression technology based on MPEG 4 [8] Standard will be used gradually in the image transmission.The Wavelet Zero Tree algorithm for image compression/decompression is recommended in MPEG 4 Standard for still background of video image.The design method and steps and the speed specification of hardwired logic implementation of an image compression/decompression algorithms based on wavelet Zero Trees [1~3] are introduced in this paper.We intend to promote the usage of advanced EDA tools and to explore the new design methodology in implementing complex hardwired digital logic for algorithms and to do necessary preparation for the desingning of ASIC with self intellectual property
