从知识经济时代的大背景出发 ,分析了高校图书馆面临的挑战及其与知识经济发展要求不相适应性的现状 ,继而结合高校图书馆职能的发挥、人员素质的提高、观念的转变、资源的开发利用等 。

Analysis is made on the challenges and the inadequacies that college libraries are facing in knowledge economy. Besides, detailed illustrations are made on the functions of college libraries, the improvement of the staff's quality, the exploitation of resources and the countermeasures college libraries should take in face of knowledge economy.
