摘要
翻译和处理文化信息《红楼梦》英译中就是“扩展评法”运用的一个范例。往往采用“扩展译法”,即通过“增词加评”、“加注补义”等手段,对译语信息进行恰当处理,以使文化信息差得到补偿,既不死守原文,又不脱离原文。
Due to the linguistic and cultural differences between Chinese and English, thd decoder's channel in the target language is inevitably narrower than that in the source language. So 'extension' is usually applied in translation to compensate this kind of information gap. This passage mainly focuses on the 'extension technique' in the translation of A Dream of Red Mansions.
