INTRODUCTION Since the late 1980s,studies on the expression ofintercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1)inpatients with malignancies have demonstrated thatICAM-1 may strongly express in two forms in suchdiseases:membranous one on the surface of tumorcells(membrane-bound ICAM-1)and soluble one incirculation(soluble ICAM-1,sICAM-1).
