Positioned field stations (or outposts) constitutean important part of the CAS research system. Basedsince its founding in 1949 on the requirements ofdisciplinary advances in the earth sciences, eco-environmental science, astronomy and space sci-ence, and in the context of socio-econmic andscientific progress, the academy has established agroup of field stations (outposts).
