摘要
海明威的《太阳照样升起》被公认为“迷惘的一代”的开山之作。本文试图采用接受理论的批评方法重新思考这个问题。文章首先论述了作为作者的海明威和作品主人翁的杰克·巴恩斯并不属于迷惘的一代。接着 ,文章运用接受理论中关于“期待视界”的概念 ,分析了为什么二十年代的读者会把《太阳照样升起》理解为“迷惘的一代”的代表作 ,及其取得巨大成功的原因。最后 ,运用“未定点”
The sun Also Rises》 by Hemingway has long been regarded as the manifesto of the Lost Generation.This paper tries to prove that this is a misunderstanding.First the paper proves that Hemingway the author was not lost while writing the novel;then the paper goes on proving that the text is not for young people who have lost guiding principle in life.Next the paper analyses this misunderstanding with the reception theory.First the paper uses the notion of “horzon of expertations” to show why readers in the 1920's regarded this novel as the manifesto of the Lost Generation;in the end the paper uses the notion of “gaps” to find out the reason for this misunderstanding.
