The author discusses the important roles played by the seven scholars from the South of the Yangtze in exile in the Northern Dynasty in spreading the culture of the Southern dynasty.The northward spreading of the culture from the South not only promoted assimilation of the Northern Dynasty by the Han Nationality but also removed the geographical barrier and opposition between the North and the South,and promoted the new unification of the North and the South.All this has remarkable and far reaching significance.
