摘要
In China,the direct result of traditional ELT is generations of English learners who can seldom communicate in English.This essay shows that English language teaching reform is badly needed in China.It suggests that teachers and students can apply the communicative approach to English teaching,which has proved quite efficient in improving English learners’ communicative ability in western countries.The essay also points out that there may be some problems during the reform and educators can avoid them by adopting some techniques.
