This paper summarizes some of the research and evaluation about mercury analysis in environment during the past years in China. The main contents are as follows: determination of total mercury and speciation of mercury compounds in atmosphere;storage and treatment of mercury in water samples; pre\|treatment of solid samples; determination of total mercury and analysis of mercury species; certified reference materials.
