During the colonial period of Japan's rule over Dalian, the Colonial Information Investigation Agency scrutinized the basic conditions of the distribution, the position and the amount of all the resources in a long and comprehensive way. The disclosure of their activities over several decades in Dalian is a basic clue to observe and understand the development of the colonial industry in Dalian and even in the northeast China.
