摘要
Thermal residual stress/strain field in the vicinity of interface in the thin foil specimen of a whisker reinforced metallic composite was studied with 3--dimensional finite element method (3-D FEM) for the first time. The stress/strain distribution across the interface between the whisker and the matrix shows that the thermal stress/strain field in the matrix extends to a large area from the interface. The effect of surface relaxation on the strain/stress was investigated. The displacement field calculated with 3-D FEM was used in the simulation of LACBED pattern. Good fit was found between the simulated pattern and the experimental one.
