Climatology is one of the improving quickest branches in atmospheric science. Several problems are discussed, especially on the progresses of climatic diagnosis and climatic prediction, such as the basic mode in atmospheric circulation, the relation between summer monsoon and ENSO, the prediction of ENSO,seasonal prediction and interdecadal variability.
