The feasibility of preparing flocculant from powdered coal ashes is studied in detail. By means of orthogonal tests, the influence of various factors, such as the activation temperature, the activation time, the ratio of CaO to Al2O3, the hydrochloric acid concentration, the reaction time and the reaction temperature, on preparation is investigated, and the hest operating condition is determined.
