An example on biochemical engineering using professional software was presented. A production process of active dry yeast was designed. Material balance, economic evaluation and process schedule evaluation were carried out. The result was in good accordance with practice. This method had the features that time consumed on design was much less than usual, several evaluation schemes were available, which indicated the advantage of computer aided design.
