“五溪”地望说异

Different Expression about "WuXi" Place

古代沅水五溪地区，近世以为广大到整个沅水中、上游，并将今上游之巫水、渠水视为古五溪之中的雄溪、■溪。据《后汉书》、《水经注》及方志等资料考证，古五溪地域恐只限于沅水中游西部一带：雄溪、■溪应是今沅陵境内的大晏溪和明溪。

Yuanshui Wuxi district of ancient times was regarded as the whote middle and upper reaches of Yuanshui, or even Wushui, Qushui of upper reaches were considered as Xiongxi, Marixi of ancient Wuxi.According to the textual reseach of 'Houhanshu',' Shuijingzhu', the foral records and other materials, I'm afraia that Ancient Wuxi district is confined to the west area of middle reaches of Yuanshui. Xiongxi, Martxi shanld be today's Yanxi, Mingxi with in Yuanling area.
