This paper presents an overview of increase trends relating to world and Asia container transport trade. Characteristics of ginat container vessels are presented by analysis of current information. The trends of container vessels getting larger and larger will exert a deep influence on the terminal infrastructures, water-base and land-base access, handling equipments, terminal operations, and shipping logistics.
