成年女性教育是目前亟待开拓的领域，其落后正严重影响着教育的开放、人口素质、国民生产总值的提高。提出提高女性总体文化水平的途径是全社会的重视和成人教育向低文化层次和农村基层的延伸，建设符合中国成年女性实际的专业、课程与媒体。
