Zhuge Liang's regret

诸葛亮身为蜀相,志向、才能和德操罕有人敌。他全力以赴帮助刘备,联东吴、霸西蜀,以灭曹兴汉为最终目的。大事未成的原因是:其志向与二主不同而遭到他们的破坏和怀疑;申韩之术治国急功近利大伤蜀汉的元气。辅君未得真明君,治国未行儒家仁政,是诸葛亮最大的遗憾。认识这些有助于我们全面理解历史和人生,从古人的教训中吸取智慧。

Zhuge Liang,prime minister (of the Shu Kingdom in 221-263) .could be hardly matched in ambition,talents and virtue. He helped Liu Bei,his king,with rulling West Shu and allying his with the Wu Kingdom (220-280)in order to eliminate the Wei Kingdom (220-265) and to restore the united contry of the Han dynasty. However, he did (ail to achieve his final success. The reasons for it are as follows;his ambition was misunderstood by and his right scheme was even blocked by his kings (father and son), and he used certain wrong strategy,weakening his kingdom. In fact,it was a great pity for Zhuge that he should have helped the wrong kings,and have not applied confucious humanism to running his kingdom. It might be wiser to learn from Zhuge's experience of success and of failure as well.
