基础科学研究是一切科技进步的先导和源泉。党和国家领导人长期以来高度重视基础科学研究,中国科学院现正在按照党中央和国务院的决策,积极推进“知识创新工程”试点工作,大力加强基础科学研究,为建设能适应21世纪中国发展的国家创新体系而努力奋斗。

Basic research is the forerunner and headspring of all the progress of technology. For a long time, the leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and the Nation think much of the basic research. Now the Chinese Academy of Sciences is pushing the task of the experimental unit of the Knowl-edge Innovation Project' and put much more attention to the basic research for the construction of the system of na-tional innovation to fit the progress of China in 21 century.
