8月26日至9月8日,山城贵阳彩旗飘舞,鲜花盛开,洋溢着喜庆气氛。以“抢抓机遇,突出通道,加强合作,共谋发展”为主题的西南六省区市七方经济协调会第十四次会议和以提高对外开放水平。
From August 26 to September 8,1998,the fourteenth session of Southwestern Provinces(Autonomous Regions,Municipalities)Economic Coordination Conference,themed on 'seizing opportunities,smooth passage ways,strengthened cooperation and mutual development',was held in Guizhou's capital seat Guiyang City,coinciding with the“August 28”movement,an effort on Guizhou's part to further opening and expanded investment. The session discussed issues such as infrastructural construction in transport and telecommunications,tourism promotion,regional market development and east—west cooperation through poverty-alleviation programs,on the basis of which 6 theme reports were filed to the Party Committee and State Council leadership. During the session period Guizhou companies signed business contracts or reached such agreements with a total volume of 3 billion RMB.415 projects were signed through bidding,totalling 16.5 billion RMB in investment.35 capital reallocation projects were signed.These all contributed to the overall opening of Guizhou Province.
