A plenty of granite related rare metal, rare earth, tin, tungsten, bismuth, copper, antimony, lead zinc, and gold deposits in South China are distributed in rare metal rare earth tungsten tin, tungsten tin lead zinc, and antimony gold tungsten metallogenetic zones around the central Nanling region outwards. What is the tectonic setting responsible for the phenomenon?Although it has been debated for long time and the models of plate subduction and collision have been adopted to explain it, no any convincing results have been achieved. The polymetallic mineralizations in South China genetically related to mantle plume is proposed. The polymetallic deposits in South China can be divided into three types, i.e.S type granite related Nb Ta W Sn Mo Bi Be Pb Zn Sb deposits, I type granite related Cu Mo deposits, and mantle fluids related Au W Sb deposits. The latter two types are obviously associated with the mantle in some extent. The first one was derived from the remelting of the crust, but almost all of deposit related granite intrusions are accompanied by a group of diabase dikes and/or lamprophyre dikes in space. Shear velocity model of crust mantle in South China and its adjacent areas displays that there exist a rigid column in the mantle of South China. The hard column probably is the relict of a hot mantle plume in Mesozoic age.
