铁道部永济电机厂位于晋、豫、陕三省交界的黄河"金三角"——山西省永济市。该厂始建于1969年,是国内唯一为铁路内燃机车、电力机车配套生产电机、电器的专业化工厂,是国家大型一档企业,中国100家最大电气机械及器材制造企业和全国行业50家最大工业企业。目前,厂区占地面积127万平方米,拥有职工近7000人,各类机械动力设备2700余台,固定资产原值3.9亿元。建厂28年来,永济电机厂为铁路运输事业的发展作出了积极贡献,共生产各类电机约4.7万台,电控近7500台份,其产品装备国产内燃机车的达70%。为了不断适应市场经济的发展需要,该厂在"七五"初期果断实施了"产品换一代,技术上一流,能力翻一番,管理进一等"的进攻发展型战略,生产、改造。
