Affiliationunit: The CAS Bureau for Coordinated Development Between Nature & Society The WDC, standing for the World Data Center,is one of the subordinate bodies under the International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU) for the benefit of the international community of scientists and provides a global mechanism of data management for all disciplinary developments related to the Earth, environment and Sun. The WDC is in charge of the collection, archiving, distribution and exchange of these data, which cover a variety of time scales ranging from seconds to millennia and con tain baseline information for scientific research, in line with procedures and standards
