Wavelet Adaptive Bitzerotree Coding for Video

摘要 This paper proposes a new wavelet data structure called adaptive bitzerotree and applies it to high compression rate video coding together with the multiresolution motion estimation. In this method the characters of the 2D wavelet transform multiresolution decomposition and the spatial correlativity of coefficients among the different sub images are utilized efficiently. The main advantage of this scheme is that the most important data of the motion compensated interframe prediction error image are coded prioritarily, resulting in excellent coding performance. Besides this, it has some other advantages such as requiring absolutely no training, and precise bit control.
