摘要 In the world of Buddhist art,many different animals appear everywhere.They could be mounts for deities;incarnations of deities or symbols of certain holy forces...and all are shown in wall paintings,sculptures and other Buddhist art forms.The art of Tibetan Buddhism has absorbed many influences from Hinduism and Bon Religion(a native Tibetan religion).Both contain many images of magic animals,especially in the vast system of Tibetan Buddhist visual arts.In Oracles and Demons of Tibet,written by Ren De Nebesky Wojkowitz(translated by Xie Jisheng),certain animals,or at least their heads,are sculpted on the top of "sheng chuang",the holy pillar that is one of the In the world of Buddhist art, many different animals appear everywhere.
