摘要
The cyclic voltammetry and potential step techniques were used to investigate the kinetics of the nucleation process in titanium electrodeposition on platinum in molten LiCl KCl TiCl x system, and the initial nucleation stage and the growth of nuclei were observed when titanium ions were electrodeposited on platinum substrate. The results show that the generation of semispheric nuclei which is instantaneous followed by the growth of isolated nuclei controlled by mass transfer is the limited step, and the density of titanium nuclei will increase with the increase of the overpotential and the temperature in a certain concentration of titanium ions.
