拱坝具有较高的承受超设计规范的洪水和应力的能力，在大坝安全定期检查中，安全级别评价标准应和其它坝型有所不同。
Arch dams have higher capability to bear floods and stresses exceeding design standard, therefore the evaluatingstandard of safety grade for arch dams should be deferent from that of other types of dams in the regular safety ex-aminations.
