magnetic spherules in Proterozic quartzite in south Jilin Province of China were obtained. The characteristics of these spherules are similar to those of fusion type of cosmic dusts in shape, surface features, general physical property, microstructure and chemical composition. They were divided into two types and four subtypes:(1)metal spherules,including iron spherules and Cr Fe alloy spherules;(2)oxide spherules,including Si Fe oxide spherules and Cr Fe oxide spherules. The chemical compositions of iron spherules and Si Fe oxide spherules are similar to those of iron cosmic dusts and iron meteorites, but Cr Fe alloy spherules and Cr Fe oxide spherules have different chemical composition, averagely containing Cr 18.76% and Cr 2O 3 13.31% .
