In this paper, the process of the forced flow generation of refrigerant vapor from its absorbent solutions inside an annular-tube generator is analyzed. A theory on the interaction and coupling mechanisms of heat and mass transfer and the method for description of the depression of heat transfer rate due to the non-equilibrium concentration effect combined with the unique phase-change properties of refrigerant-absorbent mixtures are proposed. A generalized form for correlation the heat transfer in the forced flow vapor generation is developed and a new dimensionless group to characterize the interaction between the phase change and mass transfer is found through the formulation. The correlation is in good agreement with the experiment results and the new theory is well supported by the experiment.
