One is altering the dense bed height, the other is altering the bed temperature. Calculated results for the both approaches are compared in this paper on the basis of the 60 t/h PFBC boiler, which will be installed in Xuzhou, China. The results show that the PFBC boiler load can not be changed Widely (79.3 ̄100%) by altering the bed temperature only. On the contrary, the load can be changed in a wide range (55.5 ̄100%) by altering the bed height only.
