The tailings from Huangyan Lead and ZInc MilL mainly contains quartz,mica,illite and aluminous minerals, which is full of promise to be used for raw porcelain material to substitute feldspar,but its Fe2O3 and MnO content are 6.66%and 7.37% respectively,much higher than the fixed level (Fe2O3 +MnO<1.5%).By using magnetic separation technique,the Fe2O3 and MnO content can be reduced to 1.05% and 0.42% respectively. The processed tailings for porcelain material can make porcelain formation temperature reduce by about 100℃. Morever the comprehensive uti-lization of the Pb and Zn tailings can avoid tailings being piled up,thus eliminating environmental pollution.
