Abstract The prime form of the currency of Qin State was the round coin with a round hole, it appearing not later than 10th year of Duck Xian Gong of Qin,and could be divided into two types as one tael and half tael.According the excavation,'first issuing money'by King Hui Wang of Qin was Ban Liang coin,but was not the first time to mint and issue coins in Qin State. The currency of Qin State surely can be divided into three standards as gold, cloth and Ban Liang coin when Emperor Qin Shi Huang unified the coinage, the cloth was the in kind of currency, and according several batches of gold cakes excavated in Shaanxi Province and some rules of Qin Dynasty,we can know that Qin had minted gold coins.Emperor Qin Ⅱminted the Ban Liang coin again because these coins was lighter than before.so he published a new law to explain this kind of coin was also legal one .
