World oil prices may rise modestly after King Fahd of Saudi Arabia handed the running of government to his brother, allowing him time to recover from a stroke, energy analysts said on January 1. The succession to King Fahd is viewed nervously by some oil traders because of Crown Prince Abdullah’s reputation for taking a tougher traditionalist line.
