摘要 In this paper, the formula for calculating the power consumption of a bare spindle(without bobbin) is introduced, which is suitable to all spindle of similar structure. The results of calculation for D1203 spindle agrees closely with the results of measurement. The calculated results show that power is consumed by three main parts, and mostly by the part of spindle upper bearing. The way of reducing power consumption of bare spindle is also recommended in the paper.
