Karst caves are rich in China. Many peculiar or rare insects live in these environments. The present article is the first report of a series of papers dealing with the cave-in-sects exploration of China. Four new species of the Sciaridae collected in the Cave Yuhuadong of Fujian Province are herein described. Type specimens are kept in the Insect collections of Beijing Agricultural University.1. Bradysia yuhuacavernaria Yang et Zhang, sp. nov. (Fig. 1 A-G)Hololypc , allolypc , paratypc 1 , 1991. x. 12, Collected in the Cave Yuhuadong by the first author.Allied to B. congata Yang, Zhang et Yang, from Mt. Longqi, Fujian Prov., but differs by the maxillary palpus with the middle segment long and stout (short and round in the latter species), and differs by the distal segment of tcrminalia apically truncate, not round as in congata.2. Bradysia dolichoflagella Yang et Zhang, sp. nov. (Fig. 2 A-E) Holotypc , Yuhuadong, 1991.x. 12, Yang Chi-kun leg.Allied to the above species, but can be distinguished from it by the terminal segment of maxillary palpus and the vaginal (urea of the female.3. Bradysia de fossa Yang et Zhang, sp. nov. (Fig. 3 A-D) Hololypc o , Yuhua dong, 1991. x. 2, Yang Chi-kun leg.Somewhat allied to the B. lobulitena Frcy, but can be distinguished on basal hairs. In the present new species the basal hairs of the basimcra of tcrminalia join together, whereas in the latter species these hairs are set on the basal tuber.4. Lycoriella antrocola Yang et Zhang, sp. nov. (Fig. 4 A-F) Holotypc , Yuhuadong, 1991. x. 2, Yang Chi-kun leg.A distinct species, length of body 2.8mm, wing 2.2mm long and 0.9mm wide, length of antenna 2mm. It can be easily distinguished from other species of this genus by the antenna and vaginal furca.
