Traffic and Econmic Links in the Border Area of the Three Provinces of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi during Song to Qing Dynasties

韩江在古代曾经是闽粤赣边区的经济动脉。本文对宋代至晚清这一段时间里，以韩江流域为中心的闽粤赣边区的交通情况、经济联系与分工、区域经济结构的形成以及贸易中心的南移的历史作了描述，并讨论其发展趋势。以期为这一地域经济区的重建，提供一种历史的参照。

In ancient China, Hanjiang River was the main artery for economic links in the border area made up of adjacent parts of the three provinces of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi. This paper gives a historical description of communications and transportation, economic links and geographic division of labour, and the formation of a regional economic structure in Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi border area centring on Hanjiang River valley, as well as the shifting southwards of a trading centre from this very place to the lower reaches of the river. Also, the paper devotes a discussion to the developmental trends of the border area in the hope of providing a historical reference for the reconstruction of this economic region.
