摘要
扼要综述了几何学新理论分形(Fractal)用于静止图像编码与运动图像编码的原理与研究进展。
Principles and current advances of fractal-based image compression technique are brieflyreviewed in this paper ,including direct method,data-base searching method and block coding algorithms for still pictures. The idea of extending the2-D FBC algorithms for3-D to cope with the image sequencecoding problem,as well as fractal-based compression results that may lead to practical applications arerecommended. At last,further research directions of fractal-based compression techiuque are discussed.
