摘要
In practice, dyeing of silk fabric is very sensitiver to undue mechanical action whichcauses fabric distortion. This sensitivity has led indirectly to unlevel dyeing and uneven shading of dyed goods. One approach to alleviate this problem is to dye the fabric after a fin-ishing operation which provides resistance to fabric distortion and which enhances higherdye up- take .Silk fabric, crosslinked in the swollen state, exhibits high wet crease recoveryas well as higher moisture regain than the untreated fabric. This dual- property from thetreatment may provide a solution of unlevel dyeing of silk fabric. This paper reports the dye-ing characteristics of a crepe silk fabric, crosslinked in the swollen state, with selected acid, cationic, disperse and reactive dyes. With the exception of reactive dye,all the three other se-lected classes of dye produced a higher up- take on the silk fabric.A postulation of the spe-cific dye-site for reactive dye for silk is spresented.
In practice, dyeing of silk fabric is very sensitiver to undue mechanical action which causes fabric distortion. This sensitivity has led indirectly to unlevel dyeing and uneven sha ding of dyed goods. One approach to alleviate this problem is to dye the fabric after a finishing operation which provides resistance to fabric distortion and which enhances higher dye up-take. Silk fabric, crosslinked in the swollen state, exhibits high wet crease recovery as well as higher moisture regain than the untreated fabric. This dual-property from the treatment may provide a solution of unlevel dyeing of silk fabric. This paper reports the dyeing characteristics of a crepe silk fabric, crosslinked in the swollen state, with selected acid, cationic, disperse and reactive dyes. With the exception of reactive dye, all the three other selected classes of dye produced a higher up-take on the silk fabric. A postulation of the specific dye-site for reactive dye for silk is presented.
