Database Deslgn for GIS Applied to Forestry at Township Level

在建立乡级林业地理信息系统（ＧＩＳ）过程中，最主要的工作是设计并建立森林资源数据库。使用通用ＧＩＳ软件（ＰＣＡＲＣ／ＩＮＦＯ）和数据库管理系统软件（ＬＯＴＵｓ１－２－３）设计森林资源数据库主要包括５个步骤：（１）将用户的观点模型化；（２）定义实体及其关系；（３）实体表示；（４）匹配成ＡＲＣ／ＩＮＦＯ的数据模型；（５）组织成地理数据集．

Forest resource database design and creation are the most important work in the course of buildinggeographic information system(GIS)for township-level forestry.Based on the commercially available GISsoftware(PC ARC/INFO )and database management system software(LOTUS 1-2-3).a database whichintegrates spatial data and attribute data of forest resources has been designed and developed for GISapplication in forestry.Datahase design steps mainly include :(1) put user′s views into model ;(2)defineentities and their relations ;(3)present entities :(4) match data into the ARC/INFO data model : and ;(5)organize geographic data sets.
