he magnetic field characteristic around a single wire matrix was deduced and a newly medium-intensity,per-manent magnetism beLt type High Gradient Magnetic Separator(PHGMS) has been developed.Commercial scale tests showed that the separating performance of the belt type PHGMS is similiar to that of electromagnetic HGMS in medium-intensity separating field,and it can be used for kaolin purification to substitute electromagnetic HGMS.The application of PHGMS can greatly decrease the operation cost and energy consumption.
