Two diametrically different kind of post-independence fate befell four countriesin Southern Africa:Mozambique, Angola, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Alarge-scale civil war broke out immediately after the independence of Mozambiqueand Angola in 1975. Thus far, despite a peace agreement, the schduled multi-par-ty democratic election in Mozambique has been postponed again and again
