摘要
本文根据科技期刊编辑劳动的性质、编辑的地位和作用以及应有的能力的特点,论述了现代科技编辑所具有的社会职能:即①对社会精神产品的宏观控制和总体设计;②为社会发现人才、培养人才;③促进科学研究的发展和对精神文化的再生产。
The proper social functions of modern scientific edit are discussed in thepaper based on the character of edit work for scientific journals and on its social positionand role, as well as on the proper ability a editor should have. The social functions of scien-tific edit are followings: Firstly, macro-control and overall design for mental products ofthe society; Secondly, to find and foster talent persons; Finally, to promote the develop-ment of scientific research and reproduction of mental civilization.
