The results of linear potential sweep experiments show that, in the molten salt systems of NdF3-LiF-CaF2 and NdF3-LiF-CaF2-Nd2O3, the electrochemical reduction of Nd(III) at Mo cathode takes place in two steps. The dissolution loss of metallic Nd in fluoride melts under different conditions was determined according to the weight difference of Nd before and after experiments.
