This paper introducs the resource of China offshore petroleum and the general geophysical survey works carried out with the cooperation of foreign companies. The international cooperation is going on smoothly and widely through tendering. Through bilateral negotiations, five petroleum contracts have been concluded. The strategy mission of offshore petroleum development and the equipment industries are also described in thes paper.
