Albert camus (1913~1960) was one of the leader of the existentialist literature in France. He was a famous French novelist and dramatist. The Fall', aphilosophical novel,is one of Camus'best novels. Jean-Baptiste Clamence in 'TheFall' is indulging in a calculated confession. In fact, his confession is a deeperdownfallt The purpose of his confession is only to arouse others'confessions andprovoke others into judging themselves. In this way, he can have the right to judgepeople. Apparently Albert Camus compares the downfall of Clamence to that ofsociety .
