IN early summer we visited thebirthplace of Emperor Yan,oneof the ancestors of the Chinesenationality according to ancient le-gend,on the eastern band of the Qingjiang River,south of Baoji,Shaanxi Province,Originally thiswas the location of the Nine-DragonSprings,where the emperor took hisbath,the Shennong Temple and the Temple of Emperor Yan’s Mother.
