High frequency jet ventilation (HFJV) is an open-system with high frequencyand lower tidal volume.The tidal volume may be significantly less than the anatomi-cal dead space of the lung,so it is difficult to apply the tidal volume to controlHFJV.In order to look for an index of quantitatively HFJV management,we studiedthe lung soundsunder going HFJV on neurosurgical patients when the driving pres-sure from 0.6 to 1.4 kPa,and found that:
