A Turbulent Closure Model of Coastal Circulation

摘要 In a tidally dominant coastal ocean, bay, or estuary it has been proposed that the problem of circulation should be described by the Lagrangian mean velocity, not the Eulerian mean velocity used traditionally. The first-order Lagrangian mean velocity of a weakly nonlinear coastal ocean system, or the mass-transport velocity has been used to body the velocity field of steady circulation as the lowest order coastal circulation, and a set of field equations for it has been derived.
