摘要
The large family of human interferon-alpha (huIFN-alpha) not only comprises nearly twenty subtypes, but also involves allelic variants under each of some subtypes. The latter has been discovered in IFN-alpha 1 and IFN-alpha 2, the two predominant subtypes of IFN-alpha. As a typical example, IFN-alpha 2a, IFN-alpha 2b and FN-alpha 2c represent the three allelic variants of IFN-alpha 2. As for IFN-alpha 1, totally three allelic variants have also been reported so far, including the one originally named IFN-alpha
