The article illustrates the development of Napoleon's love for France and the inevitability of his tragic fate by giving many facts from his youth to the recollections of his later years and his will. Napoleon, when young, looked forward to 'freedom and equality', hailed and joined in the Franch Revolution; when in power, he adopted a serious of measures to fight against the armed intervention and defend the independence and unification of France.
